Temperature conversion: Celsius, Fahrenheit & Kelvin
Starting with version 0.4.0, CalNote supports temperature conversions between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin — right alongside the currency features you already know.
How it works
Append a temperature unit after any number. CalNote recognizes three formats for each scale:
- Celsius —
°Corcelsius - Fahrenheit —
°Forfahrenheit - Kelvin —
Korkelvin
100°C 100°C
212 fahrenheit 212°F
273.15 K 273.15 K
Converting between scales
Use the to keyword — the same one you use for currencies:
100°C to °F 212°F
32°F to celsius 0°C
0 kelvin to °C −273.15°C
−40°C to °F −40°F
That last one isn’t a bug — minus 40 is the one point where Celsius and Fahrenheit meet.
Variables work too
Store a temperature in a variable and convert it later:
body = 36.6°C
body to °F 97.88°F
body to K 309.75 K
boiling = 100°C
boiling to °F 212°F
Mixing temperature units
Just like with currencies, you can do arithmetic with mixed temperature units. The rightmost unit determines the result:
20°C + 10°F 78°F
100°C − 32°F 180°F
CalNote converts the left value to match the right value’s unit before performing the operation.
Autocomplete has you covered
Press Ctrl+Space to see temperature unit suggestions alongside variables and currencies. Temperature units are marked with a ° icon in the dropdown so you can tell them apart from currency codes at a glance.
